Hass & Fuerte β two world-class varieties grown in Tanzania's Southern Highlands and exported to European markets.
Both varieties are grown in Tanzania's Southern Highlands at 1,500 β 2,200 m altitude. The cool temperatures build higher dry matter content, richer flavour and longer post-harvest shelf life β making Tanzanian avocados highly competitive in European retail and wholesale.
The world's favourite variety β grown to EU perfection.
Tanzania Hass is characterised by its pebbly skin that turns from dark green to purplish-black at peak ripeness. The flesh is dense, pale yellow-green, with a rich buttery flavour and high oil content β a result of the high-altitude, slow-ripening growing conditions of the Southern Highlands.
Our Hass avocados are harvested at a minimum of 23% dry matter, sized and graded at the packing house to EU Extra and Class I standards, and shipped in reefer containers directly to European ports of entry.
The classic export variety β large, smooth and buttery.
Fuerte is one of the most widely exported avocado varieties to Europe. Its smooth, thin bright-green skin remains green even when ripe β a trait that requires clear ripeness guidance in retail. The flesh is pale yellow-green, milder and slightly less oily than Hass, with a buttery, clean flavour that is well-loved in wholesale and foodservice markets.
Tanzania Fuerte benefits from the same high-altitude growing conditions as our Hass β producing larger, heavier fruit with exceptional shelf life. The main harvest season (May β September) positions Tanzania Fuerte as a reliable supply source when northern hemisphere origins are winding down.
